How to Make a Creative Environment - by Dutch MacDonald - July 19 2013 The Lunchtime Creative Sandwich

How to Make a Creative Environment
Dutch MacDonald
July 19th from 12-1 PM

Innovation is a growing global economic imperative. It calls for more people to be more innovative more often. There are hundreds of books that celebrate innovators and describe their traits -- but how can individuals and businesses foster innovation? This talk looks at how to make an environment that fosters creativity and collaboration.

Dutch MacDonald is a registered architect and innovator who works at the intersections of people, information and environments. As COO of MAYA Design (and president of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the American Institute of Architects), Dutch has helped organizations as diverse as General Dynamics, NAMMI and Virginia Tech build creative environments. Let Dutch teach you how to infuse innovation into office culture at Bruno Works on July 19.

Community Creative School events are free and open to everyone. Classes take place in downtown Pittsburgh at Bruno Works on 945 Liberty Avenue, Suite 500.

Be there or be square—and don’t forget to bring your lunch!

Coworking is Growing in Pittsburgh

Great to see a number of local "communities" evolving around the concept of "Co-working" in the Pittsburgh area. Now, in addition to The Beauty Shoppe, there is Bruno Works, Catapult PGH, Revv Oakland, The Hardware Store, nearby Co-Work Kittanning and the Co-working Pittsburgh Meetup group which organizes "Jelly" gatherings and other events for coworkers.

Did we miss any? Keep us posted on this blog, @CoworkBurgh, Facebook (Pittsburgh Coworking) or the Linkedin group.

We're especially interested in feedback from those of you who work out of coworking spaces or communities. Tell us about your business and your coworking experiences.
